About Coastal Cockers

About us

We are a small home based boutique breeder registered with Dogs Nsw, located on the Central Coast.

Breeding is not our full time work, but it is our passion. We focus on breeding quality, not quantity.

Our aim is to breed top quality, sound and healthy Cocker Spaniels to ensure long life companions.

All of our dogs are DNA tested, regularly health checked, exercised daily and are our beloved family members.

Our gorgeous English Cocker Spaniel breeding line has been carefully handpicked from some of the best Grand Champion bloodlines imported from both the USA & UK and across Australia, so that we have quality lines to ensure we are breeding the best of the best striving for healthy, confident and happy puppies that are well rounded, beautiful in look, nature and temperament.

All of our pups are raised in the family environment following responsible and ethical breeding policies.

They are brought up and raised in a clean and extremely loving home with our children, cats and other dogs therefore they are very well socialised complete with an Early Neurological Stimulation programme and socialisation.

Health and DNA Testing

A healthy dog is a happy dog. A happy and healthy dog brings endless joy to everyone around them.
Our dogs and puppies are given the best food, water and quality of life right from the start with a lot of love, affection and training.

Our Cocker Spaniels are DNA health tested through Orivet and are certified as “Clear” this gives us the peace of mind that our cockers and their litters will never be Affected or Carriers of any of the genetically hereditary diseases common to Cocker Spaniels.

These diseases include:

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) – PRA is an inherited disease of the retina in dogs, in which the eyes are genetically programmed to go blind.  This disease can be avoided with the use of DNA testing.

Familial Nephropathy (FN) or AHRN (Autosomal Hereditary Recessive Nephropathy). This disease is rare but there are carriers in Australia.

Adult Onset Neuropathy (AON)
AON is an inherited neurological disorder characterised by a weakness in the hind limbs, eventually leading to weakness in the front limbs. Neurological signs of this condition seem to progress gradually over 3 to 4 years.
